Banana Farm

About

Banana Farm has the player helping a weev named Bam with his banana farm. The game is a relatively slow-paced experience with a simple objective, various upgrades, a straight-forward progression, and some minor events taking place.

Map Layout

The player is spawned in the center of an orchard of banana trees with Bam standing in the middle. Next to Bam is a stable that is used for an upgrade, and behind him is a set of lamposts that lead to a market of sorts. Rocks are scattered across the map and serve as decoration, same with clouds in the sky. There is a billboard advertising Bams Banana Farm behind where the player spawns.

Objective(s)

Banana Farms main objective is to get 1,000 bananas at once (Giving the player an award). However, it can be played forever afterwards. There are multiple other things that would warrant an end, such as getting a badge, all upgrades, 100%ing the game, etc.

Instructions

Mechanics

Events

There are 3 randomly chosen events that will happen once every 5 minutes in game. These arent stoppable and can seperated into 2 categories; the beneficial and detrimental events.

- Rain
The Rain is the only beneficial event and gives the player a 2x harvest boost until the next in-game event.

- Lumberjacks
The Lumberjacks event is the first detrimental event and has 3 clones of Dyn spawn on 5 random trees that will slowly destory your tree if not stopped. You have 30s to pry them off before the tree is gone for good.

- Bugs
The Bugs event is the second detrimental event that will have 5 copies of Stiling attack randomly chosen trees. If not stopped, those banana trees will be disabled for a short time.

The Market

The Market is a home like structure placed behind Bam that allows the player to sell their bananas for cash. Each banana is sold for $5. The player can automate the selling process by buying the Wheel BAMrrow upgrade.

The Shop

- Hired Help: $100

Hired Help is an upgrade in the shop that calls a weev named Bon to help. He will be stationed at a random tree and begin harvesting. Once approached, he will give 5 dialogue options.

1: "Thanks for helping!" - Simply thanks Bon for helping out. No affect.
2: "I'll give you $50 to work faster!" - In exchange for currency, Bon will work slightly faster.
3: "I'll give you $100 to harvest more!" - In exhcange for currency, Bon will harvest slightly more.
4: "Can I take these bananas from you?" - Gives you the bananas Bon has harvested.
5: "I can take it from here!" - Fires Bon.

This upgrade can only have 3 Bons working at once.

- The BAMobile: $500

The BAMobile is an upgrade that spawns a car designed like a banana. This car can be ridden in by the player at very high speeds.

- The Wheel BAMrrow: $500

The Wheel BAMrrow is an upgrade that makes use of the stable spawned at the beginning of the game. It will hire Wearth to transport your bananas to the market and sell them. Once approached, she will give 4 dialogue options.

1: "Thanks for helping!" - Simply thanks Wearth for helping out. No affect.
2: "I'll give you $50 to run faster!" - In exchange for currency, Wearth will run slightly faster.
3: "Can you go sell my bananas?" - Sends Wearth to go sell your bananas.
4: "I can take it from here!" - Fires Wearth.
This upgrade can only be bought once.

Development history

- Banana Farm was created on April 3rd, 2022 in Wiven 3.0. Its earliest playable version exists on Wiven 4.01. The map is defined by 10 sparsely and randomly generated banana trees, and a primitive png of a roblox avatar as Bam. The 3 upgrades provided were to expand the trees spawning range, upgrade the amount of bananas you get out of 1 harvest, and to plant anpther tree at a random spot.
- As of Wiven 4.07, the map got a much needed improvement. Now including more decorative tree types, rocks, and clouds being scattered about the map. Bam also recieved an updated sprite, similar to his current asset today.
- Modern day Banana Farm began to take shape around March 17th, 2024; with the introduction of modern mechanics such as the market and upgrades.
- On August 29th, 2024; events were fully implemented to Banana Farm, leading to the modern day game that we know today.

Fun Facts

- Banana Farm was originally meant to be scrapped during Wiven Recoded, which would've lead to BF not being in the Wiven Beta.
- Banana Farm was the birthplace of many current Wiven characters! Such as Bam, Wearth, Bon, Stiling, and Dyn!
- Events began development around Wiven Alpha 0.025 (April 1st), but was only finished during Wiven Beta 0.10! (August 29th)!
