Sky Stones

About

Sky stones is a parkour and shooter esq game combined into one, having the player traverse pre-built courses while needing a specific number of kills to progress throughout the game.

Map Layout

There are a total of 5 levels, each one being comprised of stone bricks and walls. This takes place in a location known as the Altirocks.
The first one has the player jump badck and forth.
The second level takes the form of a path.
The third is comprised of a large, heart shaped course with plenty of enemies to defeat.
The fourth is a zig zag stair case, being the final main one.
The fifth level is the end level, having randomly generated and placed platforms around the sky. The fifth level also has a much lower gravity and higher speed.
Each of these take place in the sky, with no ground below and no clouds around other than in the skybox. At spawn there is a platform. In front of the player is a walkway to the course. To the right is a save and load feature for if you input a save code before playing. To the left is a shop ran by Dane, which was never fully added. To the left of the walkway to the course, there is an interactable sign that tells you how many kills you need to proceed and how many you have.

Objectives

The objectives of each level includes reaching the end of the course, marked by a green flag. There is a sign that will tell you have many kills you need to move on, and how many you have.

Mechanics

Enemies

Enemies take the form of dragons in this game. These are stationary NPCs that will be placed around each map. Each level will have the appropriate amount of dragons needed to proceed to the next level. Theses enemies can be shot at with your blaster.

Blaster

Your blaster is a gray, red flare/rocket shooting device thats used to eliminate enemies at a distance. In this game, your blaster is a one shot weapon, meaning it kills anything with a single blast. The blaster also has a piercing effect, which means no matter how many enemies are lined up at once, a single blast will pierce them all. Your blast is also rapid fire, taking only 0.1 seconds to recharge.

Instructions

WASD is the base way to move in all Wiven games, and clicking usually interacts with the clicked object if possible. The blaster is also fired by clicking. V is the universal next dialogue button. Arrow keys to look around, pressing T once or twice switches to a mouse based camera. Space to jump. Using these, that covers all you really need to know about this game. Stay away from those dragons, and show 'em whos boss!

Development History

Sky Stones was originally an independent game from Wiven, and was released on September 5th, 2022. This older version looked very similar design wise; however there was another enemy called "Frank". Same properties as the dragon though. The blaster model was vastly different and had a different sound. Human hands grabbed a much more thin and rounded blaster, and had recoil whenever the weapon was fired. A smaller detail was that everytime A or D was pressed, the skybox would shift slightly to emulate the player leaning.
Sky Stones was eventually added into Wiven on version Wiven Beta 0.09. This version was released on the 19th of August, 2024. The modern version would remain the same, untouched from what it is in the Wiven Beta 0.313 release.
